Recently I've been noticing a rash of spam to our email servers and to our forums. I'm in the process of hardening our servers against this latest onslaught. Spammers sure are a creative bunch aren't they?
What this means to you: If you are a legitimate user of our forums you may have accidentally been deleted in our latest prune of recent spammers. For security I've also deleted any users who have 0 posts. If you were mistakenly removed from our forums during this cleanup, please accept my apologies and re-create your account.
We still aren't done. This is only the beginning. Going forward, we will be testing and implementing various methods for keeping the spammers at bay. Ultimately if the spam problem continues on the forums, I'll lock down the registration process such that you will have to send me an email proving you are not a bot before I activate your account. This will be a drastic last ditch measure, which I hope I wont have to take. But frankly, wiping out 200+ spammers every other week is taking away from my other duties.
